Why Test: Evaluate learning & provide specific feedback, measure student growth & achievement, gauge effectiveness of programs & resources, make instructional & policy decisions, and helps students develop test-taking skills. Benefits: Provides tools to inform instruction & increase student achievement, measures student growth & achievement, new state contract is 10 years & RISE will provide schools stability in historical data.
WHAT YOU NEED KNOW ABOUT UTAH ASPIRE PLUS Starting in April, Utah Aspire Plus will replace SAGE and be administered to 9th- and 10th-grade students. Utah Aspire Plus measures student knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in reading, English, math, and science. What’s Is It: This assessment is a hybrid between the ACT Aspire and Utah's current 9th and 10th grade assessment items.·Utah Aspire Plus is predictive of a student's college readiness as measured by the college readiness assessment most commonly submitted to local universities. What’s New: Hybrid test, End-of-level (as opposed to end-of-course like SAGE), will be timed, no open response questions, Spanish trans-adaptive, and ELA is two tests with no writing. What’s the Same: Aligned to Utah Core Standards, test is computer based, multiple choice and technology enhanced questions, local control of proctoring and accommodations, and benchmarks available for teacher use. Why Test: The Utah Aspire Plus is very similar to the report provided by ACT for the ACT Aspire, including a predictive ACT score in English, Reading, Math, and Science; provides information on student proficiency in Utah Core Standards; and give students and parents an ACT predictive score. Benefits: Offers students an authentic ACT experience, provides information on students' college and career readiness, measures student growth between 9th and 10th grades, and prepares students to take the ACT later in high school.

Due to the cancellation of school on February 6 from the bad snow storm, our make up school day will be June 6. It is District policy to make up any full day of school due to severe weather conditions.

PCSD Parent Stakeholder Survey

The district will be administering online school surveys and all parents and guardians are invited to take the survey.

The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback about teachers, principals, and schools. Responses are anonymous and no personal information is collected. Results will be given to teachers and administrators and used to improve classrooms and schools. The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.

SCHOOL FEES

2018-2019 School Fees

The Park City Board of Education affirms the principle that a public education should be free to the patrons of the school district and that barriers to public education should be removed wherever possible. In that effort, the school board has waived the fee requirements for mandatory and academic fees for the 2018-2019 school year. The board’s action is not a categorical waiver of all fees. Fees subject to this action include fees for elective courses and general education expenses. This action does not extend at this time to extracurricular fees and other fees for activities conducted outside the normal hours of the school day. In all cases, remaining school fees are subject to State law and district waiver policy.  Please go to our link for more information regarding school fees and school lunch.
