Cell Phones (español)
Cell phones are a distraction to the learning process. Cell phones must be turned off and left in the students' lockers during the school day. If students need to use a phone (as in the case of an emergency), they can go to the front office to use the student landline phone, or they may use their cell phone in the front office with permission from an administrator or secretary.
Cell phones are NOT allowed in the classrooms and may NOT be used during passing periods or during lunch.
Unauthorized use of cell phones will result in disciplinary action. Consequences will be confiscation:
- 1st offense = confiscation for one (1) day.
- 2nd offense = confiscation for one (1) day and phone will only be returned after parent-student meeting with administration.
- 3rd offense = the student will turn in their cell phone to school administration for three (3) consecutive days and a parent-student meeting will be required before the cell phone is returned to the student.
- Other disciplinary actions may be taken for continued habitual offenses.
If a cell phone is confiscated during 4th period, the student will turn in their cell phone to school administration the next morning, and it will be returned to the student at the end of the day.
